Stampin Up’s Last Chance List
It’s finally here! Check out the Last Chance Stamps.
Here’s the Last Chance Accessories List. Just so you know, this list will be updated daily with items that have been sold out (I think quite a few items are going to be gone fast) so make sure you order early to avoid disappointment. Check out the Stampin’ Up website for the most updated list.
I also wanted to remind you about the great hostess promotion going on for June. In addition to the great regular hostess benefits, during June, Hostesses who hold a $330-$524.99 workshop will receive an additional $25 in hostess free merchandise dollars. Hostesses who hold a $525 or more workshop will receive an additional $50 in hostess free merchandise dollars (these totals are before tax and shipping). Customer, demonstrator, Online, and workshop order types qualify for this promotion. Hostesses may use their additional hostess free merchandise on any regular catalogue or mini catalogue merchandise.

Mojo Monday
Here’s this weeks Mojo Monday. I barely made it in – again! The sketch:

And my cards:

I decided to flip the sketch – I thought it would look better this way than the other way using the oval. What do you think? I used the DSP from Sale-a-Bration along with the So Saffron ribbon. The cardstock and ink colors are Whisper White, Certainly Celery, and Bashful Blue. For the sentiment I used the congrats from Fundamental Phrases. Then I punched it out with the Large Oval punch and the Scallop Oval punch. I love the look of these two punches together. I popped them up with pop up dots.
I’m a youth leader at my church and this coming Sunday a couple youth are getting confirmed. They’re both guys so I tried to make them manly and not too cutesy, which was really hard for me! I thought the stripes added some manliness, but I couldn’t not put ribbon on it. It almost isn’t a card without ribbon! Anyways, I hope they like them, today is a big day for them!
Last Chance List
Stampin’ Up’s Last Chance List (formerly Retired List) is being released on Monday. To make room for all the great new stamp sets and accessories, SU has to sadly let some others go. It’s so sad!
I think Sincere Salutations is going – it’s so versatile, but it’s also been around for awhile. Same with Heard From the Heart and Curvy Verses. I think either Zoofari or Wild About You are going too. We do know for sure that All Scallops is going – so if you want it, you need to order it before the end of June.
I’ll be really sad if Fifth Avenue Floral goes (although it’s relatively new and pretty popular), but you never know. I don’t Fun and Fast Notes to go either, or Always.
For the ribbon, I’m not really sure what’s going. I do think some of the buttons will be making an exit, but I’m not sure which ones. As for the Designer Series Paper, I think most of it is going too because most of it has one or two In Colors in them. Speaking of In Colors, the current ones are being retired and we’ll have 6 new ones in July. How exciting!
I’ll try to get a link to the Last Chance List on the blog as fast as I can, cause I know you all have to be as impatient as I am!
Anyone else have any predictions about what’s being retired and what’s sticking around?
Card Organization
How do you organize photos of cards on your computer?
At the moment I do it by birthday, thank you, thinking of you, etc. like I do with my finished cards. But the other day I had the idea of doing it my stamp set. I think it would be easier to look for card ideas if I had all the similar ones together, kind of like the gallery at SCS. That way if I’m trying to figure out what to do for a workshop with a specific stamp set it would be a lot easier.
Any ideas?
Stampin Up on Youtube
Stampin Up has just started posting some of their videos on youtube.com. Check out the SU channel here. Make sure you have some time before you click on the link though, you’ll want to watch more than one!
Here’s a great video about the Big Shot:
SCS Sketch Challenge
I participated in this week’s sketch challenge over at splitcoaststampers.com. You can check out the challenge here. Here’s the sketch:

And here’s what I did:

This card went through so many changes! First I couldn’t decide between this DSP from Pink Flamingo and the stripes and dots from Rainbow Sherbet. Then I was going to use Fun and Fast Notes and make a birthday card with the birthday cake. I tried doing the birthday cake a couple different ways, but it just wasn’t turning out how I wanted it to.
So I looked through my stamps again and thought maybe I could do something with Petal Pizzazz. I used three different stamps from that set and layers them on top of each other to come up with this. I added a brad through the middle and put the bottom layers on pop up dots. I sponged the edges of the cardstock and DSP to give it some dimension, even though it’s tough to see in the photo. Then I used some Whisper White 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon to add some texture. The colors I used are Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White.
Because I kept changing my mind this card took forever to make. Usually Once I have an idea I’m pretty quick, but this one just kept going and going.
Another Case
add Apparently I’ve been all about the casing for the last few days. I cased this card by LorriHeiling in the gallery on SCS. Here’s my copy of it:

It’s basically an exact copy except that I switched up the colors a bit. I went with Lovely Lilac and Orchid Opulence along with the Whisper White cardstock. The sentiment is from the Oval All stamp set, from the Mini catalogue. I used hte Large Oval punch to punch it out and then layered it with a piece of Lovely Lilac that I punched out with the Scallop Oval punch. I used brads from SU’s Vintage Brads to add that little something. I also popped up the sentiment with pop up dots.
I think what really appealed to me on this card was the clean and simple look. There’s not a lot of layers or embellishments. I think the reason why it works is because the Fifth Avenue Floral set is so beautiful all on it’s own.
Weekend Sketch Challenge
This was my first time participating in the Weekend Sketch Challenge. You can check it out at Charmaine’s blog. Here’s what the sketch looked like:
And here’s my take on it:

When I first looked at the challenge I thought that Eastern Blooms would be the perfect set to make this card with, but then once I got it out I changed me mind – I eventually went with Garden Whimsy. I’m glad I did because I think it gives the card a great spring-y feeling. The sentiment is from Fundamental Phrases. The cardstock and ink colors I used were Whisper White, Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue, and Sage Shadow. It was my first time using Sage Shadow and I actually really like it a lot. The ribbon is also in Bashful Blue. I used my 1-3/4″ circle punch for the snail and the Scallop Circle punch for the mat. I love how easy it is to do mats with the punches, plus it’s fast.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Mojo Monday
One of these days I’m going to get the Mojo Monday challenge done and finished in the week it’s supposed to be for! Here’s last week’s challenge:

And here’s what I came up with:

I was in the mood for DSP so I picked Pink Flamingo. I went with Whisper White cardstock, with Real Red and Tempting Turquoise cardstock and ink. I thought the Petal Pizzazz stamp set went with the DSP so I stamped two of the flowers in it. I matted both of them and then popped them up. I added silver brads in the middle of both the smaller flowers. I used SU’s Scallop Edge punch and the Corner Ticket Punch.
Mojo Monday
Thanks to Victoria Day yesterday, we Canadians had the first long weekend of the summer. I got a lot of stuff done that I had been putting off because it wasn’t very summer-y outside. So I worked on the Mojo Monday challenge for this week. Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

The DSP has been calling me lately so I used the Pink Flamingo DSP for the background. The colors I used are Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Basic Black, and Yoyo Yellow. The brads are SU’s silver brads. I used the Scallop Yellow punch along the yellow strip, and the 1-1/4″ and 1-3/4″ circle punches for the flower.
